Training future researchers

Excelen is making serious investments in the future of  medicine. We combine research engineers and scientists, clinicians, and a hospital setting under one roof.

Through basic, translational, and applied clinical research, we are committed to improving outcomes for patients with orthopaedic challenges. Excelen researches and develops innovative surgical and rehabilitative techniques and technologies. We have a reputation for nimble work and high quality solutions. Our published work contributes to the base of knowledge available to other researchers and physicians.

Through education, we are helping to develop the skills of future researchers, both scientists and physicians. Our educational platform—in the midst of direct patient care at Hennepin County Medical Center—gives students, interns, and fellows access to a large trauma hospital and world class medical care. Our customized approach to education encourages collaboration among engineers, physicians, researchers, and others. Excelen helps others build and develop core competencies of their own.

Research

Excelen was founded to accomplish an overriding goal: To enhance patient care and improve rehabilitative/surgical outcomes in a cost effective environment.

Excelen’s wide-ranging clinical activity is coupled with extensive laboratory research. We are helping train the next generation of orthopaedic researchers, physicians, and scientists. Our collaborative attitude helps leverage our strengths with the strengths of others, locally and internationally. Excelen’s research and publishing expands knowledge in orthopaedic practice. We are accommodating, flexible, and innovative.
